Our Providers
Manuel Tamondong, MD, FAAP
Dr. Tamondong comes to our family having practiced in Georgia for four years. He completed his residency at Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York. Having joined us and blended the best of city and country living, Dr "T" is known for practicing "random acts of awesomeness/kindness" and enjoys football, professional wrestling (even though he knows it is fake), and video games. He also partakes in city biking and enjoys running to counteract his sedentary activities and provide a good example for his patients. |
Elena Escapini Shea, MD, FAAP
Dr. Escapini Shea received her undergraduate degree from Yale University. A graduate of Tufts Medical School, Dr. Shea completed her pediatric residency at Georgetown University Hospital. She grew up in Florida and is fluent in Spanish. During her training she developed an interest in International Child Health. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and enjoys spending her time reading novels, running for fitness and eating at new restaurants. |
Joy Mayuga, MD, FAAP
Dr. Joy Mayuga is the latest addition to the PCNV medical team. Although she is new to the practice, she is certainly not a new doctor! Dr. Mayuga has been a pediatrician in Northern VA for the past 14 years, most recently at a practice in Ashburn. She completed her pediatric residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, followed by a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Joy Mayuga is one person who truly deserves her first name: many of her patients describe her as a “joy” to be with! She is married and has two teenage kids. When she is not driving her kids across town, Dr. Mayuga likes to spend her free time running, watching old movies, reading historical fiction, and baking (hence the running). She volunteers at her kids’ schools and is also an avid supporter of Special Olympics and Best Buddies. |
Chiquitia Anderson, MD, FAAP
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Chiquitia Anderson to PCNV!!! Dr. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital of Michigan. While there, she cultivated her teaching skills as the Chief Resident. In her pursuit to escape winter, she relocated to Northern Virginia. Previously, she practiced in Washington, D.C. In addition to her interactions with patients, she enjoys reading, traveling and is an avid spectator of sports. "Paying it forward" is a way of life for Dr. Anderson. When not in the service of caring for children, she mentors aspiring health care professionals and volunteers in the community |
